Beautiful reflection on Christ centered community. It resonates with my understanding and experience with the Church (ekklesia) Jesus founded over 2,000 years ago. His community is both tangible in the present and transcendent until the end of time. Both scripture and tradition clearly affirm Jesus' desire for His believers, his followers, to come together and remain together as community until the end of time. And ekklesia also affirms that we are sent out as community to love and serve.
"And I tell you, you are Peter, and on this rock I will build MY Church, and the gates of Hades will not prevail against it. I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven."
"Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit and teaching them to obey everything that I have commanded you. And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age."
