GIVE THANKS WITH A GRATEFUL HEART - Our Daily Bread
FIND ME IN THE RIVER - Cast of I Still Believe, KJ Apa, JJ Heller
A cheerful heart is good medicine,
But a crushed spirit, dries up the bones.
Lord, find me in the river, find me
On my knees, and let my soul be free.
But a heart that is pure and cheerful,
Spreading agape love to others,
Is Like a song, so beautiful,
To a lost soul thoughtful and peaceful.
With God's strength, kindness is
Endless and so incredibly blissful.
It's Comfort to a strong conscience,
As we find joy in being helpful.
It's a strength that cannot be destroyed,
It gives us wisdom of a thousand lives,
With God's grace, we build and fill a void,
When your focus and heart belong to Jesus.
Let the melody of God's love guide you,
With a joyful soul, one's spirit is lifted high,
In our weakness, God's strength shines true,
With a cheerful heart, each day feels brand new.
Living with joy and a grateful heart helps us to maintain a cheerful attitude and positive mindset. It also shows on our face when we greet and encounter people. The love of God shines through us to others to show encouragement and loving kindness to them.
To help maintain this joy and gratitude, stay kingdom focused on the promise of God’s grace. Let God help you maintain this positive and joyful attitude and mindset.
The more time we spend in prayer, not only reading God’s Word, but really meditating on it in a very quiet and still place where we are alone with Him, the more we gain in wisdom and discernment, and the more joy and gratitude we let Him bring into our lives. It’s a conscious choice we must make. God will not force Himself on us.
As we grow in spiritual maturity, we grow in wisdom and the desire to spread God’s love to others. When we surrender ourselves completely to God, His strength will empower us and work through our weakness. God works best through our weakness, but again, it’s a daily choice we must make.
Ask these questions of yourself today:
Is your heart filled with joy and gratitude?
If not, what’s holding you back from feeling this?
If you do feel joy, who can you text, call, or maybe visit to bring a little smile to their life today?
Proverbs 17:22 (NIV) – “A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones.”
Philippians 4:13 (NIV) – “I can do all this through him who gives me strength.”
2 Corinthians 12:9 (NIV) – “But he said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.’ Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.”
I pray you make the choice to surrender to God today. Let His love fill your heart with joy and gratitude so others can see it on your face. You know what – IT LOOKS GOOD ON YOU!!
