Hope in Front of Me - Danny Gokey
Decisions, decisions,
Do I stay, or do I go?
Gotta weigh all my options
Throughout life’s ebb and flow.
The battle rages
Back and forth in my mind.
As it interfaces
With my heart and soul as the day unwinds.
Which way is right?
Which way is wrong?
My hope is to look toward the light,
In the midst of the storm.
The journey of life
Is full of trials.
I look to Jesus for the only advice,
As He is the light where I seek all guidance.
When I’m faced with a choice
To maybe take a huge leap of faith,
Stop, breathe, and listen to God’s voice.
I place my trust in HIM to guide me to the next phase.
God gave me this poem this morning as a reminder to place my full hope and trust in HIM for all decisions. To be honest, I’m facing challenges in several areas of my life right now. Some days are better than others. Jesus is the light that shines in the darkness and is the only one I rely on for guiding me through the upcoming decisions in my life.
You may have guessed it, and yes very soon, I feel God will lead me to one of the most important decisions of my life thus far. It’s not easy right now, but the only way I know is to trust God in guiding me to make the right choice at the appropriate time. There are a lot of unknowns, and as to exactly when God will lead me to make that decision, I don’t have a clue. I do feel it may be sooner than later. It will be a huge leap of faith on my part, so I want to make sure through prayer and reading His Word, the right decision will be made. I trust God will reveal that to me. I have faith that He will.
The long and short of all this is: No matter what period in the journey or life you’re in, look to Jesus as He is the way, the truth, and the life. Jesus is the only way to the Father. Jesus is my intercessor. Is He yours? I hope so my friend.
John 14:6(NLT) – Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me.”
Hebrews 7:25(NLT) – Therefore he is able, once and forever, to save everyone who comes to God through him. He lives forever to plead with God on their behalf.
Take care and God bless all of you!
Beautiful poem Anne!
I have a notebook for writing down phrases, thoughts, poems and verses scriptures that mark me in some way, and the verse of your poem has just gone into my notebook.
"Which way is right?
Which way is wrong?
My hope is to look toward the light,
In the midst of the storm."
Thank you so much for sharing and inspiring with your blog.
You remain in my prayers!
Anne sending prayers. Listen carefully. Retirement isn’t the end. It’s the beginning of a new path, that leap of faith. When you just let go of the known, he will show you the new direction. Love you.
