Even So Come
The Heartbeat of a Church Longing for Her King
The promise still echoes
through the pages of Revelation—
“Look, I am coming soon.”
Not as a whisper carried by the wind,
but as the faithful word...
of the King who cannot lie.
The Alpha and the Omega.
The First and the Last.
The Beginning and the End.
The One who stood before time
and will stand beyond it.
Meanwhile, we wait.
Not with folded hands,
but with expectant hearts.
Like a bride preparing for her groom,
we watch.
We pray.
We remain faithful.
In a world chasing distractions,
we fix our eyes on things above.
In a world building temporary kingdoms,
we seek the eternal Kingdom that cannot be shaken.
In a world growing darker,
we look for the Bright Morning Star.
The Spirit and the bride still say,
“Come.”
Every weary saint.
Every longing heart.
Every faithful believer
watching for the return of the King.
“Come.”
Come and make all things new.
Come and wipe away every tear.
Come and establish justice forever.
Come and gather Your people home.
For our hope was never found
in this passing world.
Our living hope is found in You.
And until that glorious day,
we will live with expectation,
fervently serve with purpose,
and graciously wait with anticipation.
For the King is coming.
The Morning Star is rising.
And every sovereign promise will be fulfilled.
So with grateful hearts
and eyes lifted toward heaven,
we join the ancient cry of the Church:
The grace of the Lord Jesus
be with His people.
Amen.
Come, Lord Jesus.
Even so come.
Scripture:
Revelation 22:12-13 (NIV) - “Look, I am coming soon! My reward is with me, and I will give to each person according to what they have done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End.”
Revelation 22:16-17 (NIV) - “I, Jesus, have sent my angel to give you this testimony for the churches. I am the Root and the Offspring of David, and the bright Morning Star. The Spirit and the bride say, ‘Come!’ And let the one who hears say, ‘Come!’ Let the one who is thirsty come; and let the one who wishes take the free gift of the water of life.”
Revelation 22:20 (NIV) - “He who testifies to these things says, ‘Yes, I am coming soon.’ Amen. Come, Lord Jesus.”
The song Even So Come by Passion and Kristian Stanfill has long carried the heartbeat of the believing Church, a melody born not from despair, but from deep, settled longing. It is the cry of a bride who has not forgotten her Groom, a people who have not confused this world with their home. John Bevere’s powerful book The King Is Coming stirs that same longing from a different direction, not through melody, but through the weight of Scripture and the sobering, glorious reminder that the return of Christ is not a distant theological idea. It is the most certain event on the horizon of human history.
Together, the song and the book call us back to something the noise of everyday life can quietly steal from us: an eternal perspective. We were never meant to live as though this world is all there is. We were made for the Kingdom that cannot be shaken, for the King who is faithful and true, and for that glorious moment when every sovereign promise is finally and completely fulfilled. Until that day, may we be found watching, praying, serving, and waiting, not with passivity, but with joyful expectation, holy urgency, and faithful hearts yearning and fully devoted to Christ. Even so, come, Lord Jesus come.

Deeply inspiring. Yes waiting, not with folded hands but with expectancy like bride to her groom. Love it.
