One of the greatest attributes of God is His holiness. It gives us HOPE that OFFERS LUMINOUS and glorious light in our YIELDING to Him.
YOUR NAME IS HOLY - Phil Wickham
We find hope in the luminous presence of God. By yielding to His will, we experience the joy and peace that comes from His light.
This connects the hope we receive from God with the light of His presence. Yielding to Him allows us to experience that light and the transformative power of His presence more fully.
In the darkness we search for light
Through the shadows we strive for sight:
With every step we look up above
To find hope in the luminous presence of God.
Within His love every fear will fade
We hold on to the promise of his mercy:
Hope's light will illuminate our way
We're not alone in the presence of the lord.
His grace leads on shining like sun's ray
Forgiveness heals our broken spirit:
When we surrender, His strength works in weakness
As our hearts respond to His call of embrace.
Hope offers a guiding hand
For in yielding we truly understand;
Through the journey we find our way
Experiencing joy and peace day by day.
Our journey into God's holiness begins with hope. The world can be a place of darkness and uncertainty. Yet, the very essence of God, His holiness, ignites a spark of hope within us. We’re reminded in scripture that He is the "God of hope," and trusting in Him fills us with joy and peace. Just as a plant reaches towards the sun, our hope naturally turns towards the source of light and life – God Himself.
This hope isn't merely a fleeting feeling. It is a powerful, enduring promise that by the Holy Spirit, we may abound in hope. God offers us something far more profound – His luminous presence. Revelation describes a celestial city bathed in the glory of God, a radiant light that surpasses anything of this world. Isaiah echoes this sentiment, proclaiming the dawn of God's light rising upon us. This light shines upon us when we embrace His holiness. This light is not just a spectacle to behold; it dispels the darkness within and around us and it offers guidance, comfort, and understanding on our path.
When we choose to yield and surrender to God, we open ourselves fully to this luminous presence. This yielding isn’t weakness; it’s a daily practice of aligning ourselves with God’s will. By studying scripture, seeking forgiveness, actively choosing kindness, and our daily surrendering everything to Him in prayer, we become more attuned to His leading. As James reminds us, submitting to God strengthens us against negativity. Philippians emphasizes the importance of letting go of anxieties and trusting in God's peace, which surpasses any human understanding. Yielding allows us to step out of the shadows of worry and bathe in the light of God's love and grace.
Yielding to God is a vital part of experiencing His holiness. It’s not about achieving some unattainable standard. God calls us to be holy because He is holy. His holiness is a standard and a gift. In essence, hope reminds us that God's holiness, a source of awe and reverence, offers us not burden but hope. This hope draws us towards His luminous presence, a radiant light that guides and comforts us. By yielding to His will, we surrender our anxieties and embrace the peace that surpasses our understanding. As we open and allow ourselves to His luminous presence, we find true hope and experience the transformative power of God's holiness in our lives bringing us closer to the heart of God as it chips away at our imperfections that allows His light to shine through us. By making this a daily practice, fueled by the Hope He offers, we become stronger, more compassionate reflections of His holiness in the world that so desperately needs it.
