Jesus Loves Me - Cedarmont Kids
As I was driving home from work today, I listened to my friend DonnyMac and Brad Wozny from “The Sovereign Soul” show talk about the movie, “Sound of Freedom” and what this movie is about. In case you haven’t heard about this movie, I think we as “Born-again” Christians should make it a point to go and see it. I went on-line earlier tonight and reserved my tickets for this Saturday afternoon.
When it comes to our freedom, there is nothing more precious to me than children. We are all God’s children, but when I hear things those small children of ages of five and six and older being sold into slavery and even worse, it breaks my heart. It literally disgusts me.
To be honest, in the past I may have not been as vocal about expressing my feelings about issues like this, but I believe God laid it on my heart tonight within the small platform I have to share a few thoughts about this very subject. We all need to stop and literally pray and ask God what He would have each of us do regarding this. If you cannot make a monetary donation, we can each add this to our daily prayer list. If you have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, we, including myself, need to pray about the evil that is going on in our world today. We need to lift these children up in prayer as well as all evil acts. Law enforcement alone cannot resolve this. It takes each of us doing our small part.
God, through DonnyMac and Brad Wozny, helped me see one thing that maybe I could do. That is to simply share a few thoughts tonight on this blog. First, I went straight to God’s word and looked up scripture simply on the word “Children.” The two passages below from Matthew and Mark both portray Jesus reaching out and blessing the children. I pray you will take a few minutes to read these few verses of scripture and let it sink in. Let God help guide you in what you can do or maybe how much you may be able to donate and in what way.
Matthew 19:13-15(NLT) – Some children were brought to Jesus so he could lay his hands on them and pray for them. The disciples told them not to bother him. But Jesus said, “Let the children come to me. Don’t stop them! For the Kingdom of Heaven belongs to such as these.” And he put his hands on their heads and blessed them before he left.
Mark 10:13-16(NLT) – One day some parents brought their children to Jesus so he could touch them and bless them, but the disciples told them not bother him. But when Jesus saw what was happening, he was very displeased with his disciples. He said to them, “Let the children come to me. Don’t stop them! For the Kingdom of God belongs to such as these. I assure you, anyone who doesn’t have their kind of faith will never get into the Kingdom of God.” Then he took the children into his arms and placed his hands on their heads and blessed them.
When I try and picture Jesus placing his hands on these children and blessing them, it brings a certain kind of peace to my heart and soul. Jesus cast out the demon in a young boy in Mark 9:14-29. That is how it should be with all children. Even when I hear the news about the human trafficking of young innocent children, it disgusts me, but I also come back to this scripture knowing in John 16:33 that no matter what we face, Jesus has already overcome the world.
If you can support and give a monetary donation, go to https://ourrescue.org/about-us?form=donate. I’ve been told every amount given to “O.U.R. Rescue” goes directly to helping rescue these children. If you haven’t seen the movie, “Sound of Freedom,” I urge us all to try and go. If you would like to help someone who cannot financially afford to go see the movie, you can donate tickets to “Sound of Freedom” at https://www.angel.com/pay-it-forward/sound-of-freedom.
No matter your belief, my prayer is that we all give of ourselves in one way or another to either pray, give financially, or however you feel led to do to raise awareness of the evils that are hurting the young children today.
May God bless you and the entire world today!
Well written perspective. This has been on mind ever since we spoke about the movie. Sadly, they are victims of cruel/evil people. I can only imagine how God must feel when he looks down here today. Our beautiful world and blessings being disregarded for evil purposes. It makes me sick! Thank you for telling me about this. The media could put a spotlight on this subject to get groups to support. I pray for them all day.
Anne, I saw Sound of Freedom last week. This movie has pulled at my heart and soul. I am praying for all these beautiful children. I pray that this will end someday by the Grace of God.🙏🙏🙏
